Chinese legend Huangdi gets a Microgaming slot of his own.
Chinese believe that they all come from the same origin: a legendary warrior and emperor called Huangdi. Based on their popular folk stories about the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, this mythic character is both part of the history and the popular imagery of heroes and deities of that civilization.
Set for its release on January 2017, this will probably be the first of many Microgaming products scheduled for the following year. With a heavy oriental inspiration –which is kind of an industry cliché by now- this brand continues expanding their portfolio with newer and better suited slots.
The slot is visually very elegant, with warm and sober colors setting the oriental mood. What’s more, the gameplay is intuitive and simple.
The symbols featured on the game include the traditional 10, A, J, Q and K revamped in an oriental calligraphy sort of shape. There are some theme-oriented icons as well, including warrior implements, Huangdi’s sword, medicine boxes and Huangdi himself.
There is a Huangdi Wild symbol that operates just like any other symbol in any other slot machine: it will substitute for all symbols except for the Scatter, allowing you to fill in the gaps needed to obtain a winning payline.
Furthermore, there is a Dragon symbol working as a Scatter that will trigger a set of 15 free spins if you are lucky enough to get 3 of them landing on the reels. These free spins can be retriggered if you get further Scatters during them, so you can theoretically get dozens of them.

What we loved
The visual design of this game is strictly oriental, but it is also very elegant. You can see the traditional slot elements such as the A, J, K, Q and 10 symbols, but they are all consistent with the main theme.

The gameplay and special features are simple enough for users to know exactly what they are doing.
What we did not like
We will have to make sure that this game holds a medium volatility, but there is no actual way of knowing this until the game gets available at online casinos.
