We hate to inform you that Jungle Jim: El Dorado has no free spinsor mini-games. Sad, yes, but the game does bring a unique feature that we feel does make up for the classic ones we are used to: Microgaming named them “Rolling Reels”. When you hit a payline, the symbols you hit kind of explode, and the ones that are directly above them, taket heir place on the reels. When the reels fill with new combinations and symbols, new paylines can appear (but not every time), and that will grant you better multipliers.
If you get the 5x multiplier, the main character will take you to another room resembling a treasure vault from the ancient Egypt movies, and this will make you lose your mind, once you realize the multipliers can get as high as 15x. The Jungle Jim symbol is no other than the Wild I this slot byMicrogaming, obviously. It substitutes every other symbol on the game, even the Treasure Chest, which is the one with the highest value.
What we do not like
Even if Jungle Jim has many amazing features and accomplishes its goal, we are not happy about the theme, since we’ve seen it before, many times. El Dorado city has been portrayed in other games, and, to be honest, it’s been done a lot better than in JungleJim. Also, there are no bonus rounds, free spinsor mini-games. This comes as a huge disappointment, since there’s nothing else to do than spin the reels and wait to hit a good combination.
The whole design of the game, -including symbols and theme- is pretty generic. You’dexpect to see treasures, gems and gold when playing a game about El Dorado, but c’mon, guys, you could’ve done a lot better with this. There are virtually little chances of you hitting a huge payout, and this makes it a no-no fo rus, since you’d be hitting the spin button for almost no reason because of its lack of special features.
We expected a lot more from Microgaming’s latest release, especially on the features side. Even if they didn’t want to innovate with the gameplay and theme, they should’ve, at least, make an effort on the special features side.

We definitely urge you to try Jungle Jim: El Dorado, if you like classic slots with a little twist on the innovative side. They do pull off the fusion between traditional slots and the modern ones, but its only attribute would be the Rolling Reels feature, which is not huge at all. When it comes to graphics and music, Microgaming definitely made a huge effort and this ends up being the best feature of the game. It guarantees you will be immersed in thecity of El Dorado.
