Get inside the deep side of the jungle with Microgaming’s Tarzan slot
Microgaming has been a little low-profile this year. We recently reviewed their Jurassic Island slot, which was definitely a great one, but we were missing Microgaming big branded slots and everything they tend to offer.
A few months back they announced that they would release a branded slot about the legendary Tarzan. Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc. yielded the rights of the story to this magnificent developing brand, and we are all looking forward to know the final product.
This far, what we know is that this game will work on a 5-reel basis with multiple rows given the varied sizes of the symbols. What’s more, we’ve learned on the promotional video that there is a handful of special features for gamblers to work upon, and they are all very original and entertaining.
First, you have to know that the symbols featured in the reels include several tropical fruits such as watermelons and oranges. These simple symbols will most likely hold lower pre-set coin values, meaning that paylines made up of these icons will grant you with small wins.
However, there are some wild animals such as monkeys and cheetahs holding medium size values, as well as original characters from the novel with the highest pre-set coin values attached to them. Jane, her father Archimedes and Tarzan himself are included.
What’s more, there is a Wild symbol, a Bonus symbol that acts like a Scatter, and a bunch of special features ranging from free spins and basic multipliers, all the way to mini-games and a 200x jackpot!
Tarzan works on a multi-layered, multiple dynamic setting. This rich configuration merges with the medium volatility of the slot, as well as the bunch of special features and the 40 payline offer, making it a great game for everyone, from shy and risk-averse to thriving risk-seekers.
What we loved
The multiplicity of special features in this game was something that we enjoyed a lot. Tarzan is a lot more than just a Wild substitution and a Scatter triggered feature, and the multiple dynamic multi-layered slot proves this.

There is always something nice about playing a branded slot, especially when we already know what the concept is about. We were more than happy to find various elements from the original story included in this game, and we have to mention that the traditional Tarzan yell was one of them!
What we did not like
Honestly there is nothing for us to criticize about this slot, at least from what we know of it this far.
We’d have to see it released and fully functional in order to know further details, but currently we think this game has everything you need to consider it excellent.
Worth playing?
Overall, we think that Tarzan is probably the most important Microgaming release this year. Jurassic Island was a good one, but it looks like Tarzan will be a lot more rewarding and rich both in terms of concept, graphics and gameplay.
With a release date set at the last day of the year, we are of course looking forward to this promising video-slot brought to us by the legendary company. We’ll have to see what it is about exactly, but for now we will take the risk of recommending it to you!
